Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology

Aspen Grove Wellness is currently recruiting postdoctoral fellows in adult clinical psychology for the 2024-2025 academic year, which will run from August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025. In addition to our training facility in Hagerstown, MD, we are also skilled in providing telehealth services and offer in-person, remote, and hybrid training. We are able to accommodate telework to individuals physically located in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Specifically, we are seeking individuals who are self-motivated, client-centered, collaborative in nature, and, most importantly, kind. Highly desired candidates would be individuals who are interested in specialized training in adult psychotherapy, including individuals with complex PTSD, relational disorders, and personality reconstruction. Training will be provided in a range of treatment models, including but not limited to psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and polyvagal theories. Additional training opportunities include the administrative aspects of running a private group practice. We strive to recruit individuals who are inclusive and affirming of all patients as well as those with specific expertise and/or members of traditionally underrepresented communities, including people of color and indigenous peoples. Preferred candidates would also have experience implementing evidence-based interventions and/or psychological evaluations with a diverse range of patients.

Aspen Grove Wellness is the shared vision of Drs. Stephanie McGraw and Leslie Stelljes Nanson, psychologists who met during their graduate school training at George Washington University’s Professional Psychology Program. Collectively, they have experience within many therapeutic settings, including but not limited to medical hospitals, university health systems, inpatient psychiatric units, substance abuse treatment centers, and general outpatient clinics. Prior to creating Aspen Grove Wellness, Dr. McGraw had dedicated eight years of her career to designing, building, and leading the APA-Accredited Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology at WVU Medicine: University Healthcare while Dr. Stelljes Nanson has spent this same time on the forefront on the telehealth movement in private practice. They have taken their collective expertise and designed a warm and developmentally appropriate training program for those looking for mentorship and guidance in the nuisance of adult psychotherapy within a private practice model.
