BIO

Meghan Hart began working in the mental health field in 2011 after receiving her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Portland State University. When her partner joined the military, Meghan relocated from Oregon to Illinois where she obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following another PCS move, Meghan and her family settled in Virginia in 2015.

Meghan has worked in a variety of social work and clinical settings including primary care clinics, supportive housing, outpatient treatment centers, EAP services, call centers, skilled nursing facilities, crisis management, and private practice. Meghan is currently serving as a License-Eligible Clinician (on her way to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with a specialization as a Perinatal Mental Health Certified Professional.

Meghan uses an integrative approach to counseling that draws from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and feminist theories with an emphasis on client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed care. Meghan strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment in which clients can explore their experiences and embrace their inherent worth.

When she’s not in session, you can find Meghan listening to audiobooks while drinking coffee in between chasing after her kids.
